Randall leaving Rutgers, Kone staying

Sophomore PF Derrick Randall has requested a release from Rutgers. However, sophomore SF Malick Kone, who was the original Rutgers player who intended to transfer in the lead up to the firing of Mike Rice, has decided to stay at the school under new head coach Eddie Jordan.

The 6'8 Randall did not fill up the stat sheet or play many minutes, but was in line for more court time and rebounds next season with four other players transferring in the wake of the Mike Rice scandal. For Kone, a 6'5 wing, numbers and minutes were also limited for Rutgers last year, averaging just 10 minutes and 2 points per game.
