Allerik Freeman Commits to Baylor

Allerik Freeman, a 6'4 guard and former UCLA commit, has decided to attend Baylor University. Freeman was granted his release from the Bruins following Ben Howland's firing. Freeman was the second best unsigned prospect from the 2013 recruiting class behind only 6'7 Andrew Wiggins. Freeman had also taken recent visits to Minnesota and Xavier.

Freeman, a Charlotte native who played for nationally ranked Findlay Prep (NV), had previous offers from Kansas, Villanova, Duke and Ohio State, prior to those teams signing other talented shooting guards for next year's class and Freeman's previous commitment to UCLA. As a shooting guard, Freeman is a nice complementary addition to Baylor's 2013 recruiting class that already included center Dominic Woodson, power forward Johnathan Motley, point guard Kenny Cherry, and small forward Ishmail Wainright.
