Andrew Wiggins Commits to Kansas

The #1 overall prospect in the class of 2013 Andrew Wiggins, a 6'7 small forward out of Huntington Prep (WV), has committed to Kansas over Florida State, North Carolina, and Kentucky.

Wiggins, a native of Ontario, Canada, has already been projected as the top pick in the 2014 NBA draft, assuming he will be one year and done at the collegiate level. This is an especially great get for Bill Self after competing for Wiggins with John Calipari at Kentucky, who is famous for preparing one and done players for success in the NBA. Another school making a strong case for Wiggins was Florida State, who had previously signed Wiggins' close friend Xavier Rathan-Mayes for next year, and where Wiggins' parents both attended as student athletes for the Seminoles. With the addition of Wiggins, Kansas should now be a top 5 team next season with a good chance to win the national title. Kansas has also signed two other 5-star recruits for next season in 6'11 center Joel Embiid and 6'5 forward Wayne Seldon. 6'6 shooting guard Brannen Greene and 6'0 point guard Conner Frankamp are both 4-star recruits also headed to the Jayhawks next year.
