4-star L.J. Peak commits to Georgetown, snubs S.C.

L.J. Peak, a 4-star small forward in the class of 2014 from Gaffney, SC, has committed to Georgetown. The Hoyas land the 6'5 190 lb Peak in an upset over the home state South Carolina Gamecocks. Peak also considered an offer from Florida State. Peak reportedly explained that Georgetown "will help [him] get to the league."

Other schools interested in Peak included UConn, Florida, Memphis, NC State, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and more. Peak spent his freshman and sophomore high school seasons with his hometown Gaffney team, but played one year at Whitney Young in Chicago as a junior this past season, before deciding to transfer back to Gaffney for his upcoming senior year.
