UCONN Coach Karl Hobbs joins inRecruit

 

inRecruit is privileged to announce that Karl Hobbs, assistant coach from the University of Connecticut has joined the inRecruit sports networking platform.

"We are ecstatic to have Karl Hobbs join inRecruit,” said former NBA player and inRecruit co-founder Malik Allen. “Karl had 10 amazing years as the head coach at George Washington leading GW to two Atlantic 10 Tournament championships, a regular-season title, and five straight postseason appearances. Karl is also a terrific recruiter who was instrumental in the recruitment of former UConn stars Richard Hamilton, Emeka Okafor and Caron Butler who I played with in the NBA during my stint with the Miami Heat. We are delighted to have Karl on the inRecruit platform.”

About Karl Hobbs. Karl Hobbs began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Boston University before joining Jim Calhoun's UConn staff from 1993-2001. While coaching under Jim Calhoun at UConn, Karl Hobbs helped the UConn win eight BIG EAST championships and the 1999 NCAA National Championship.  From there, Hobbs went on to be the head coach at George Washington University for 10 years leading the Colonials to two Atlantic 10 Tournament championships, a regular-season title, and five straight postseason appearances, including three consecutive NCAA Tournament berths. He was the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year in 2005-06, and notched 166 wins while at GWU. Hobbs returned to UConn last season as Director of Basketball Administration and is now a full time assistant on Kevin Ollie's staff.
