Adams, Zeigler split from Pitt

Pittsburgh men's basketball loses two key players for next season as they announce today that 7 foot center Steven Adams will enter the NBA draft, and guard Trey Zeigler will transfer.

Adams, a New Zealand native, heads to the NBA after his freshman year based on largely on flashes of potential after posting 7 points and 6 rebounds per game in his lone season with the Panthers, hoping to help provide for his large family of 18 brothers and sisters back home. Jamie Dixon's squad will also be without junior guard Trey Zeigler next year, who will transfer away from Pitt after transferring in from Central Michigan a year ago following his father Ernie's dismissal as head coach.
