Five-star 6’5, 190 lb Dallas point guard Emmanuel Mudiay, rated top five in the 2014 class and a major recruiting target of the University of Kentucky basketball team, confirmed to ESPN analyst Paul Biancardi on Friday night that he’ll make his college decision on Saturday during the nationally televised broadcast of the Under Armour Elite 24 Event at 7p.m. in Brookyln, New York. Mudiay is ranked as the top point guard by most recruiting services, and the top overall prospect in the 2014 class by 247Sports. Mudiay will be choosing between Baylor, Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma State and SMU.

Kentucky has been rumored to have Mudiay at the top of their list, but SMU who is coached by former NBA coach Larry Brown , has also been considered a strong contender, which happens to be in Mudiay’s hometown of Dallas, Texas. Recent developments have made it look like Mudiay may surprisingly be favoring SMU. He was suppose to visit Kentucky back in October, but has since visited SMU on five different occasions. Mudiay is said to have a strong relationship with the SMU coach and staff, and sees Brown as a father figure. Kentucky has just recently offered another point guard, 4 star 5’9 150 lb Tyler Ulis which is said to be “insurance”  incase they actually lose out on Mudiay.
