Utah lands Versatile Foward Kyle Kuzma

Kuzma has impressive skills for a player of his stature.

Kyle Kuzma, a 6’8 200 lb versatile foward out of Burton, Michigan verbally committed to the University of Utah on Friday while on a visit to the Pac-12 institution. Kuzma had offers from other 20 other D-I schools, including Connecticut, Missouri, Minnesota, Arizona State, Texas A&M, Auburn, Penn State, Seton Hall, Providence, Oregon State and Florida State. A point guard early in his high school career before a big growth spurt, he’s got good ball skills and a solid outside shot.

Utah was actually one of the first high-major schools involved in his recruitment. Utes coaches first saw Kuzma during this past season, when he played for Rise Academy, in a game against Massanutten Military Academy in Virginia back in January, and an offer came shortly after the April live recruiting periods. Kuzma is the second commitment for Utah in the Class of 2014, joining four-star 6-8 power forward Brekkott Chapman, who’s currently ranked 49th in the ESPN 100 for rising seniors.
