Park Tudor's Trevon Bluiett commits to UCLA

Trevon pictured above, is a huge get for UCLA and their program for the future.

The 6’6, 205 lb Park Tudor senior committed to coach Steve Alford and UCLA on Monday, a day after returning from an official visit to the campus. “I knew this was it,” Bluiett said. Bluiett out of Indianapolis, Indiana is ranked as the No. 46 prospect nationally by in the 2014 class, was considered a top target for several programs, in particular Butler and Michigan. But, in Butler’s case, momentum seemed to shift when Brad Stevens was hired as the coach of the Boston Celtics, and UCLA coach Steve Alford added former Park Tudor coach Ed Schilling on his staff as an assistant.

Bluiett had recently cut his list to Arizona, Butler, Indiana, Michigan, Purdue, UCLA and Xavier. He had planned the second of his official visits to Purdue next weekend, but will no longer make that trip. Bluiett won Class 2A state championships as a freshman and sophomore at Park Tudor under Schilling, playing alongside current Indiana point guard Yogi Ferrell. He averaged 27.8 points and nine rebounds last season and is considered one of the top candidates for “IndyStar Indiana Mr. Basketball”, going into his senior season. With the early success already achieved with Coach Schilling, the future should be very interesting for this young guard.
