2014 6’2 Point Guard Robert Cartwright commits to Stanford Cardinals

Robert Cartwright wearing No. 22, looks poised and ready to lead the Stanford Cardinals in 2014.

Robert Cartwright, a 6’2, 168 lb point guard out of La Canada, California, made his decision on Wednesday night, joining Coach Johnny Dawkins and staff at Stanford. Ranked No. 78 in the new Rivals150, the four-star guard will pair up with the Allen twins in the backcourt next year for Stanford. Cartwright was first sold on Stanford in the spring. It was reported that Cartwright was waiting to be accepted by Stanford, and being cleared tonight, sealed the deal. Cartwright had offers from Arizona State, San Diego State, Pittsburgh, Utah, Harvard, just to name a few.

Cartwright will finish his senior year at Flintridge Preparatory School in his hometown La Canada, California. Cartwright announced his arrival as an elite recruit with a sustained run of high level play during the summer live period. Playing in front of major college coaches from across the nation, Cartwright led his AAU squad, which also includes fellow Stanford target Thomas Welch, to a successful summer on the circuit. Scouts have stated that Cartwright is a heady pass-first point guard who possesses an advanced feel for the game.
