San Diego Guard Devin Watson commits to Oregon State

Devin Watson pictured above in No. 1 jersey, looks to bring his skills to Oregon State come 2014.

Just announced, 6’0, 155 lb Devin Watson has just committed to Oregon State for the 2014 class. Out of San Diego, California, Watson has played his high school ball for the Army and Navy Academy in California. He also had offers from UConn, San Diego, Cal State Northridge,St. Mary’s, Oregon State, UTEP, just to name a few. A three star guard and ranked No. 44 at the point guard position by ESPN, has been said to be “one of the most prolific scoring lead guards in the West”.

Sources say it was down to UConn, St. Mary’s, and Oregon State and these schools were pursuing Watson “hard”. As a junior at Army and Navy Academy, Watson averaged 23.6 points per game and dishing out 6.2 assists per game. Watson is a true point guard with good length and his burst off the dribble is quite good. His crossover is low and tight and he is quite potent in a high screen and roll offensive set. If the lane isn't available he displayed an impressive pull-up game. Oregon State should be excited for this 2014 recruit.
