2015 Four Star Recruit Corey Sanders commits to UCF

Corey Sanders above, is all smiles to be teaming up with Alex Owens at UCF in 2015.

Last night, the UCF Knights picked up their first commit from the Class of 2015 commit Alex Owens, a four star power forward from Orlando's Oak Ridge High School. Not even a day after, IMG Academy’s point guard Corey Sanders out of Brandenton, Florida, who is also a four star recruit, followed suit with his own pledge Wednesday evening. The duo are rated No. 71 and No. 76 respectively in the Rivals150. UCF made it clear from day one that 6’2, 170 lb Sanders was their top point guard target for 2015. He says Assistant Coach Darren Tillis attended each of his AAU games the past two years. Head Coach Donnie Jones was on staff with Billy Donovan when they had won back to back national championships at Florida, which Sanders is very aware of “Coach has a pretty good idea of what he is doing”.

Sanders stated that once Owens had committed last night, it was a no brainer for him to come to UCF. He held a strong relationship with Owens playing against him in AAU and high school. Sanders said Coach Jones was in “shock’ when he had called him to tell him his decision. basketball recruiting analyst Eric Bossi calls Sanders "one of the most exciting playmakers in the country regardless of class," who is a "high flyer and flashy ball handler who can make defenders look silly via the dribble." He held early offers from Marquette, Memphis, Murray State, Tennessee and Xavier.
