Fenwick High’s own Scott Lindsey stays Close to Home

Northwestern landed a big recruit Sunday night in Scott Lindsey shown above, the future looks bright for NU's program.

Fenwick shooting guard Scott Lindsey has orally committed to Northwestern, becoming the fourth player to join coach Chris Collins’ first recruiting class. The 6’5, 180 lb Lindsey is rated as a three-star recruit in the 2014 class by who also drew offers from Iowa, Vanderbilt, Nevada, Drake, Hampton, and Indiana State. First year Northwestern head coach Chris Collins has been busy on the recruiting trail since he was named the head coach of the program in late March. What is so interesting about Lindsey’s commitment to Northwestern at this date in time, is that he is committing prior to his official visit to campus during the weekend of October 5th.

Scott visited Nevada last weekend (September 13-15) and is fresh off of a visit to Iowa this current weekend (September 20-22). Clearly, Collins and Northwestern made such an impression on Lindsey that he didn’t even feel the need to visit the campus again. Hailing from Oak Park, Illinois, Lindsey is only 20 miles from home attending Northwestern, which could of played a huge role in his decision. Lindsey joins power forward Vic Law, from St. Rita, combo guard Bryant McIntosh and forward Gavin Skelly. It should be also noted that NU’s 2014 class was ranked #25 in the nation, before Lindsey’s commitment, which will sure push them down a little lower.
