Montverde Academy Wins High School National Championship

Montverde Academy (FL) defeated St. Benedict's (NJ) 67-65 to win their first NHSI championship. In a fantastic finish, Montverde's Jalyn Patterson knocked down a game winning 3 in the final seconds, spoiling what would have been a game winning 3 for Syracuse commit Tyler Ennis and St. Benedict's seconds earlier. Montverde overcame a 16 point deficit and a technical foul call in the 3rd quarter to bring home the title.

Kentucky bound Dakari Johnson led the way for Montverde with 18 points and 8 rebounds, overcoming early foul trouble to finish the game strong. Pitt signee Mike Young scored 19 for St. Benedict's. Head coach Kevin Boyle and the Montverde Academy Eagles are now the #1 high school basketball team in the nation.
