Junior College Center Ivan Uceda commits to Miami

Ivan Uceda, junior college big man at Harcum College, has commited to Miami (Fl.). The Madrid, Spain native gives Head Coach Jim Larrañaga his fourth commitment for the class of 2014. Uceda is a big bruiser standing at 6'10, 240 lbs. He is unranked by Rivals,, Scout, and 247sports.

Like many European big men that make the transition to the states, Uceda is very versatile on offense. He can step out and shoot the three, and he possesses a variety of solid post moves if he needs to bang down low. Uceda is also an excellent rebounder. He broke Harcum College's single season record for rebounds last season. As stated previously, Uceda gives Miami its fourth commitment for the class of 2014. He will face some competition early in his career with 7'0, 227 lb sophomore Tonye Jekiri set to still be on campus when Uceda arrives. Add center and fellow Miami commit Omar Sherman to the mix, and Uceda will be challenged for playing time early. His well-rounded offensive skill set could help him stand out against his competition.
