Providence loses Ricky Ledo to NBA

Highly rated Providence recruit Ricky Ledo will leave the college for the NBA draft without ever playing for the Friars. Ledo, a talented 6'7 wing, was ineligible for Providence due to academic issues this past season.

Ledo was allowed to practice with the team, however, demonstrating to scouts that he projects as an NBA draft pick. This is disappointing news for Providence heading into a reshaped Big East conference next season, but the Friars and head coach Ed Cooley were aware of the off the court risks associated with recruiting Ledo, a top 25 prospect from the class of 2012.
