As the 2014 high-school basketball season gets set to begin, the nation’s mostly highly touted prospects will be verbally declaring to the top ranked schools in the country.

Coach Mike Krzyzewski and the Duke Blue Devils seem to be in the frontrunner for two of the top prospects in the class. Jahlil Okafor  & Tyrus Jones, each took their official visit to Durham over the past weekend (Oct.25). The duo has said that they would like to play with each other in college. Jones is expected to make his decision in early November, with Okafor to follow shortly after.

Okafor a 6’10 center who is ranked the number one overall player in the class of 2014 and Jones, the 6’2 number one ranked point guard in the same class have forged a commitment to play with each other. Yet what’s most unique about this situation is that the duo doesn’t play on the same high-school team or live in the same state.

The bond of the two that stems from being opponents at a third grade AAU Nationals to playing alongside each other on the U.S. National team maybe what brings the package deal of Okafor and Jones to Durham in the summer of 2014.

But, it’s not just the package deal of Ofakor and Jones that the Blue Devils could be getting as commitments. Top 15 recruit, Justise Winston, 6’6 forward from Houston has also said he would like to play alongside the duo.

With a freshmen class that already bolsters last year’s No. 2 overall ranked player in the c/o 2013, Jabari Parker, the Dukies are sure to be Final Four favorites in the near future.
