Dominique Hawkins commits to Kentucky

Mr. Basketball of the Bluegrass State for 2013, Dominique Hawkins, has decided to stay close to home and attend the University of Kentucky.

The 6'1 guard from Richmond, Kentucky, also held offers from Purdue, Western Kentucky and South Carolina among others, but his decision became an easy one when Kentucky's starting point guard from last year, Ryan Harrow, decided to transfer away from Lexington opening up a scholarship for Hawkins at his "dream school". Hawkins is icing on the cake for John Calipari's incoming recruiting class, which is already considered by many to be among the best of all-time. Hawkins adds depth to next year's talent filled Kentucky roster consisting of the #1 ranked prospect in the class of 2013 at four out of five starting positions and six McDonald's All-Americans.
