Michael Carter-Williams leaving Syracuse for NBA

Syracuse's star point guard, 6'6 sophomore Michael Carter-Williams, will forgo his final two years of college eligibility and enter the NBA draft. Carter-Williams is expected to be drafted in the first round, possibly in the top 10.

Carter-Williams led Syracuse to the Big East championship game and the Final Four this season. His family has also dealt with serious personal and financial hardship off the court recently as a fire destroyed their Massachusetts home during the Orange's postseason run. MCW's departure opens the door for highly regarded recruit Tyler Ennis, a 6'2 point guard and Canada native, to take over the starting spot for Syracuse next year. Ennis led St. Benedict's Prep (NJ) to the NHSI championship game this season, coming up just short of the title in a fantastic finish against the newly crowned #1 ranked Montverde Academy (FL).
