Greg Whittington during his tenure with Georgetown
UPDATE:

The 6'8" forward has decided to transfer from Georgetown and looks to continue his college career elsewhere. Currently recovering from a torn ACL, Whittington was dismissed by Georgetown last month and is still months away from returning to the court. Whittington told ESPN.com that he has gained interest from Memphis, South Carolina, and Nebraska. He has already planned to visit Rutgers this weekend and looks to move on from his time at Georgetown.

ANALYSIS:

Whittington began his college career with promise as he averaged 12.1 points and 7.0 rebounds during the first 13 games of his sophomore year. However, he was ruled ineligible as a result of his academic issues and then later tore his ACL this past summer. He has drawn interest from schools such as Memphis and Nebraska because both former Georgetown coaches working in their programs. When he does return back to the court, though, questions will arise regarding years of eligibility. Because he only played 13 games his sophomore year and missed this past semester because of injury, it is quite unclear whether he will have either two or three years eligibility remaining.
