JUCO Wing Kedar Edwards commits to Florida State

Kedar Edwards as shown above, will be attending Florida State next fall for the Seminoles.

Florida State picked up a commitment from the junior college ranks on Monday afternoon as the Seminoles took a commitment from 6’5, 185 lb wing Kedar Edwards. Edwards currently plays for State Fair Community College in Missouri and is averaging 16.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest. State Fair recently qualified for the National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas after winning the Region XVI title. Edwards was receiving interest from DePaul, Iona, Oklahoma, South Alabama and Southern Miss. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Edwards went to West Oaks Academy in Orlando and has three years of eligibility left for the Seminoles. This is the fifth commitment for Florida State in the 2014 class, and their third pledge coming from the junior college ranks.

The knock on Edwards in high school was his lack of an outside shot. ESPN's scouting report stated that he "doesn't project as a high percentage shooter..." So all he's done in JUCO is shoot 45% from the arc. Kedar is an elite athlete off the floor with a big time motor. He's tough, he competes, and he can defend multiple positions. He can score in a variety of ways, he can get you double figure rebounds on any night and he is a very good passer with good vision.
