Berardelli Breaks Delsea High School Career Goals Record

Junior forward and team captain Nadia Berardelli has broken the career scoring record for Delsea Regional High School field hockey with her 62nd goal during a 4-0 win at Deptford. Beradelli ranks among the top scorers in the state of New Jersey.

Last season Berardelli led the conference with 33 goals as a sophomore, a new school single season record that she is on pace to break again this year. Berardelli has already netted 29 goals so far in 2016, leading Delsea to an undefeated 15-0 regular season so far with 6 games remaining.

Berardelli credits her teammates for her outstanding scoring stats in a recent Q&A with the Courier Post: "It starts with the defense and works its way up. It’s never just me, it’s the whole team getting the goals. It started from the back, and it’s the power and the strength we have in the back that’s getting it up to the midfield, then we have the opportunity in the circle."

Berardelli trained hard this offseason with Xplosive Hockey Club and attended field hockey exposure camps at various colleges.

Berardelli, who also excels in the classroom, is attracting college interest from major programs in the Big East, Ivy League, Patriot League and more.
