Gavin Schilling chooses Michigan State

2013 Findlay Prep (NV) PF Gavin Schilling announced on Twitter that he has chosen Michigan State as his college destination over UCLA, Villanova, & Minnesota.

Schilling’s high school coach Todd Simon of Findlay Prep had been pushing for Schilling to attend Michigan State although Schilling seemed to always been leaning towards Coach Tom Izzo and the Spartans. He visited MSU less than two weeks ago, attending the Spartans’ regular-season finale against Northwestern. He recently broke down why he likes Michigan State.  “Their program is a winning one.  What Coach Izzo has done there is amazing.  He is a player’s type of coach that spends much time with the team on the court getting his players better as well as off the court.  I like Coach Izzo’s style of play and I like the Big Ten style of play.  I have a good chance to make an impact as a freshman.  The business program is also top of the line and the school is close to home.”  Schilling is Michigan State's only commitment so far for 2013.
