Darryl Reynolds Commits to Villanova

Darryl Reynolds, a 6'8 power forward for Worcester Academy (MA) and one of the top remaining unsigned prospects in the class of 2013, has announced his commitment to Villanova.

Reynolds, a native of Bala Cynwyd (PA), also considered Utah, South Carolina and Seton Hall among others. Reynolds made his announcement at Lower Merion High School in suburban Philadelphia, which in the mid 1990's was home to superstar alum Kobe Bryant. Reynolds played high school basketball near Villanova's campus at Lower Merion originally before heading to Worcester (MA) for a postgraduate year. BJ Johnson, a 6'7 small forward and Syracuse commit, also played for Lower Merion. This signing adds needed size to Villanova's roster for next season, which means an opportunity for Reynolds to have an immediate impact as a freshman. 6'10 Daniel Ochefu, a sophomore next season, is the only other Wildcat standing taller than 6'7. Early on, expect Reynolds to contribute mostly through rebounding and defending at the 4 position, but he has shown flashes of ability to extend his perimeter game with time and development under Jay Wright's staff.
